BY GRIMBROTHER ONE - 11/27/2015
ISSUE 52
Greetings and gobblings, fellow fiction fans. Last week we visited a number of story-related Halo happenings and shed some light on the weapon-forging secrets of Foreunner foundries. This week will be lighter on content while most of us at the studio are getting heavier on the turkey. We’ve got some additions and updates to some Universe articles, and will be announcing the winners of our Canon Fodder 50th-issue giveaway. Without further ado, let’s get right to it!
Drawing conclusions
In case you missed it, earlier this week we unveiled a pretty monster asset drop of Halo 5: Guardians art, ranging from character models and weapon studies to environmental concepts and vehicle variations. It’s a treasure trove of voluptuous visuals, and becomes even cooler when combined with insight from some of our incredible artists, who give a peek into some of the thought process behind imagining and reimagining some of Halo’s eye-catching aesthetics. If you haven’t seen it yet, you should definitely check it out.
Cache prizes
Over the past couple weeks, Fodder fans have been posting in our forums and tweeting their thoughts our way regarding some of their favorite aspects of the Halo fiction. Needless to say, there were a wealth of responses ranging from passion for Halo’s ancient mysteries to devotion to its collection of alien life. Some folks adore the more close-up encounters between characters while others love following narrative threads that weave through different media. Well the names and handles have been collected and thrown into the proverbial hat, and some lucky fans have been drawn at random. Congratulations to the winners listed below and a huge thanks to everyone that entered! If you don’t find yourself on the current list, don’t lose heart, as we’ll be looking to do some more cool giveaways soon. If you do find yourself listed below, stay tuned as we’ll be contacting you shortly to inform you of your loot. Again, thanks to all who participated!

Truth & Reconciliation
ScreamingMidgit: How come certain GEN2 MJOLNIR variants (Hunter, Helljumper, Copperhead, and Technician) have their own unique under-suits while others (Recruit, Pioneer, Argus, Anubis, etc.) all utilize the same under-suit design?
A: The techsuits underpinning the GEN2 Mjolnir found in multiplayer variants of Halo 5: Guardians and Halo 4 can be considered the “baseline” GEN2 techsuits, seen most ubiquitously across Spartan ranks. There are instances however when certain fireteams or individual operatives are outfitted with customized techsuits that contain a host of undisclosed improvements or modifications to fit particular mission parameters or operator need.
Giving thanks
Tis the season to be thankful for the things and people that we love, and it’s no different around these parts. Thanks to each and every one of you readers who gives us a small share of your valuable attention each week to partake in a bit of Mjolnir-shrouded make-believe. Thanks to the countless fine folks at across 343 Industries who support features like these and contribute their talent and expertise to help making cool content continue to happen.
