Le Don du Cartographe (Cartographer's Gift) est la deuxième mise à jour gratuite de Halo 5 : Guardians, parue le 16 décembre 2015[1], pesant 3,8 Go[2] et révélée pendant les The Game Awards le 4 décembre. Son contenu a été présenté lors d'un live Twitch le 11 décembre 2015.[3]

Contenu
Cette mise à jour apporta le mode Forge, la carte Zone de combat Battle of Noctus et les cartes d'Arena Overgrowth, et Antifreeze et Burial Mounds pour le Big Team Battle.
Les autres modifications incluent :
- Ajout du partage de fichier.
- Ajout des saisons compétitives et les sélections sociales avec Join-in-Progress activé.
- Ajout d'un REQ Pack spécial lors de la première victoire de la journée en Arena et Warzone.
- Correction du glitch permettant aux attaquants de capturer les bases dans le désordre en mode Assaut.
- Réduction du nombre maximum de joueurs dans les parties de Chacun pour soi de 8 à 6.
- Modification de la mesure de la progression des Spartan Companies grâce aux citations.
- Lobby :
- Les points de réquisition et le nombre de packs de réquisition non ouverts seront visibles pendant les temps de chargement et dans le lobby.
- Correction d’un bug dans le tri d’escouade : le chef d’escouade est maintenant bien affiché en haut de liste et les autres joueurs triés par gamertag. Dans les parties personnalisées, les autres équipes sont regroupées et triées alphabétiquement.
- Liste d’amis :
- Plus de détails sur les activités des amis depuis la liste d’amis.
- Correction d’un bug dans le tri des amis : ils sont triés par présence en ligne et alphabétiquement.
- Centre Spartan :
- La rareté et la description des cartes de réquisition sont visibles à l’ouverture d’un pack et dans la collection même si elle n’est pas possédée.
- Le coût en points d’énergie est affiché pour toutes les cartes à l’ouverture d’un pack et dans la collection.
- Ajout d’options permettant de modifier la « zone morte » interne et externe des sticks ainsi que l’accélération de rotation de la caméra.
- Mode spectateur :
- Nouveaux contrôles cachés pour changer le point de vue du joueur sans utiliser l’interface jusqu’à 8 joueurs en 4v4 et Chacun pour soi.
- Dans le tableau des scores, possibilité de changer le point de vue de chaque joueur individuellement avec le bouton A.
- Correction de bugs : tri par équipe et alphabétique dans le sélecteur de point de vue, contrôles du zoom en caméra libre et impossibilité de cacher le sélecteur de point de vie dans certaines situations.
- ATH :
- Les indicateurs de position apparaissent dans l’écran de mort, en mode spectateur et en visée intelligente.
- Dans le tableau des scores, le meilleur score de la partie (frags, assistances et morts) est mis en évidence.
