M808C Scorpion
Main Battle Tank

Role: Assault
Manufacturer: Chalybs Defense Solutions
Top speed:[sic] 66 tons (59.9 tonnes)
Weight:[sic] 1x M512 90mm (turret), 1x M247T 7.62mm (pintle)

Turret: The Scorpion's turret is unmanned. It is a self-contained system that holds the tank gun, ammo stores, autoloader, and targeting sensors. The turret is full rotation, and the main gun has a max elevation of approximately 60 degrees and a depression of -30 degrees. The M808C does not typically have a coaxial machine gun installed in the turret.
Ceramic-titanium armor: The Scorpion's armor is nearly invulnerable to Covenant small-arms fire, but it provides no special resistance to heavy plasma impacts and energy projectors.
Track pods: Most versions of the Scorpion have four articulated track pods. Each pod contains an electric motor connected to a drive wheel and bogies that hold the road wheels. These are paired with terrain-adaptative tread segments. The pods are modular and can be easily removed and replaced in the field. Armored track skirts can be added for additional protection.
Time tested: The M808 entered service in 2218, though modern examples bear only a passing ressemblance to the earliest models which rumbled across the sands of Mars and over the rubble of urban battlezones on Earth.
Powerpack: A hydrogen-burning turbine installed in the rear of the hull charges storage batteries in each track pod and powers core systems. The engine core can be removed from the tank with minimal tool and lift equipment.
Gunner's pit: On the M808C a motorized ring mount is fitted to the secondary gunner's station. Located to the right of the commander's compartment. The ring's pintle can soft mount any standard UNSC infantry support weapon, but the M247T machine gun is standard.

Heavy metal
Considered by many to be the preeminent armored vehicle of the UNSC, the Scorpion holds an extraordinary track record of success across dozens of planets and hundreds of battlefields dating back to the beginning of human interstellar colonization. The lastest M808C iteration fielded during most of the Covenant War period features a heavily armored hull, four independently articulatred track pods, and a large unmanned turret. The Scorpion had a legendary reputation among the UNSC ground forces as being practically indestructible and "unbeatable" in a straight fight, though it fared poorly in large engagements if not backed up by supporting infantry and anti-aircraft artillery. Spartans made extensive use of the Scorpion in their operations, and a single super-soldier tank commander could rack up seemingly impossible kill counts against both ground and air targets.
