<big>Summary</big><br>
Born on the idyllic colony world of Draco III to working-class parents, Edward Buck displayed strong leadership skills and perseverance, even before his military career began. He enlisted in the UNSC Marine Corps in 2528 and was immediately sent to training facilities on Earth and, later, Reach. His early career in the Marines was laudable, including a harrowing six-month rotation in the ruins of Harvest’s capital city in the 2531 liberation campaign. It was this operation that secured the success of his application to the Orbital Drop Shock Trooper (ODST) course in 2532.
Buck served on the front lines in the war against the Covenant for over two decades, establishing himself as an incredibly dedicated leader and deadly warrior even among the elite ranks of the ODST. Though he told only his closest companions, his only regret during the war was that he was not able to participate in the defense of Draco III when it was invaded in 2545. His desire for revenge may have eventually resulted in his death had he not become romantically involved with the enigmatic Veronica Dare and learned to temper his bloodlust.
After fighting in the doomed defense of New Alexandria during the fall of Reach, Buck returned to Earth. When the Covenant tried to gain footing in the African city of New Mombasa on October 20, 2552, Buck led Alpha-Nine, a hand-picked squad of ODSTs. They dropped into the heart of the besieged city in search of an ONI-designated Tier One asset. Despite the unit being scattered upon entry, Buck located each teammate, secured the asset, and succeeded in his mission.
<big>Post War</big><br>
Following the close of the Covenant War in 2553, Buck was approached by Spartan Jun-A266, who attempted to recruit the veteran ODST trooper into the growing SPARTAN-IV program. To the Jun’s surprise, Buck declined the offer, wanting to remain with his current team. In 2554, Buck and the rest of Alpha-Nine were sent to Draco III - Buck's homeworld - to help quell a dangerous rebel uprising against the UNSC. Eventually, Alpha-Nine found themselves in a standoff with Captain Ingridson of the insurgency in the New Albany capitol building, which was being used as the rebels' local headquarters. With Captain Ingridson holding the Rookie hostage, Buck was alerted by Spartan Sarah Palmer to encroaching rebel reinforcements surrounding the building. Once his team was in position, Buck signaled for Mickey and Dutch to engage the rebels inside the building while Palmer and her Spartan-IVs engaged forces outside. Though both Buck and Palmer's respective crews would prove successful, it would come at great cost; during the conflict, Captain Ingridson executed the Rookie in cold blood, an event that would forever change the remaining members of Alpha Nine.
<big>SPARTAN-IV</big><br>
After the Rookie's funeral, Buck spoke once again with Jun-A266, and was told that approval had been handed down to allow the rest of Buck's remaining team into the SPARTAN-IV program as well. With this news, Buck finally relented. With the Rookie KIA and Dutch choosing to finally retire, Buck, Romeo, and Mickey joined the fledgling Spartan ranks. Alpha-Nine's integration into the program would certainly not come without incident, including enduring a terrorist attack during training which claimed the life of Captain O'Day, who served as the recruits' drill instructor.
In 2555, Buck and his squad were assigned to a mission on the outer colony of Talitsa, where they were to rescue and retrieve two high-value assets for ONI that had been captured by insurgents: the Huragok Quick to Adjust, and Sadie Endesha, its human handler. On the way to their intended mission objective, Mickey turned on Buck and Romeo, revealing that he could no longer live supporting the UNSC’s seemingly anti-colonial independence sentiment. As Buck and Romeo were being escorted to the insurgents' base, tensions boiled over and a conflict ensued. Using their newfound Spartan superiority to their advantage, Buck killed the rebel leader and overpowered Mickey, rendering him unconscious. Romeo eliminated the remaining insurgents and proceeded to rescue both Quick to Adjust and Sadie while Buck kept watch over Mickey, waiting for him to regain consciousness. Once the mission was accomplished, Mickey was escorted back to Mars and subsequently incarcerated.
After receiving high commendations for his actions on Talitsa, Buck requested to be placed on a new squad, this time as simply a member rather than a leader. His current status remains classified.

<big>Summary</big><br>
Contracted by Office of Naval Intelligence (ONI) while a young prodigy, Catherine Halsey spearheaded the top-secret SPARTAN-II and MJOLNIR projects, as well as the creation of the remarkable AI, Cortana. Moral ambiguities regarding these programs inevitably called into question the doctor’s ethics, eventually leading to her arrest on the Forerunner world of Onyx. Nevertheless, ONI continued utilizing Halsey to help integrate the UNSC Infinity’s Forerunner engines, as well as analyze a number of Forerunner artifacts. During Infinity’s campaign on Requiem in 2558, Halsey was kidnapped by the Covenant, though the nature of her abduction caused the UNSC to deeply question her allegiances. During an unsuccessful assassination attempt Halsey was shot in the upper-left shoulder by Commander Palmer, which forced an emergency amputation at the hands of Jul ‘Mdama's medical personnel.
<big>Birth and Education</big><br>
Catherine Halsey was born in the coastal city of Port Vernon on the colony world of Endymion. At a young age, she was sent to Endymion Gifted, an elite academy where she continued to defy educatory standards and was finally afforded a trip to Circumstance in 2501 from the Dean of Biological Science at Koletre-Browning University who completely funded her education till 2507, where at the age of 15 years she had already completed two doctoral thesis papers. ONI eventually recruited Halsey, bringing her to the planet Reach in 2510 to operate as a civilian consultant on a number of classified projects. In 2515, Halsey became the youngest scientific advisor in ONI’s history, and eventually the agency’s Chief Scientist in 2522.
<big>SPARTAN-II and MJOLNIR</big><br>
During her time with ONI, Halsey had begun engineering plans for two critical, highly classified ONI programs: SPARTAN-II and MJOLNIR. These projects represented a severe response by ONI to the surging colonial unrest which had steadily risen since the early 2490’s and now posed a serious threat to UEG authority. In 2517, SPARTAN-II formally began with the abduction of 75 children throughout human-controlled space. This project consumed Halsey’s life for nearly ten years, though she continued to research artificial intelligence architecture, slipspace travel, and eventually xenoarchaeology. It was also during this time that she developed a close relationship with the Spartans, specifically John-117, who she believed was uniquely special.
<big>Family Ties</big><br>
In 2524, Halsey was reunited with Lieutenant Jacob Keyes during a conference at the University of Calippus. As a young lieutenant, he was her escort on a number of the participant scouting expeditions. This chance encounter evolved into a romantic liaison, and Halsey became pregnant with Miranda, who was born February 28, 2525, on Reach. Although still heavily involved in SPARTAN-II and MJOLNIR, Halsey attempted to raise Miranda on Reach for a number of years, but when the child reached the age of six in 2531, Miranda moved in with her father on Luna, as he had been removed from the front lines of the war due to combat injuries. Miranda eventually followed the legacy of her father and joined the UNSC Navy, gaining notoriety for her bravery and eventually the rank of commander.
<big>The Covenant</big><br>
By the end of 2525, the fully armored Spartans were deployed against domestic terrorists and a new foreign threat called the Covenant. With the advent of this new enemy, ONI’s funding for a second class of candidates in SPARTAN-II was cut and repurposed for the war effort. Eventually Halsey came to the realization that ONI wanted more direct influence over the Spartans as combat assets. This assumption was inevitably confirmed with the creation of the SPARTAN-III and SPARTAN-IV programs. After the deployment of her SPARTAN-IIs, Halsey’s attention was turned to the refinement of artificial intelligences, the improvement of the Mjolnir armor systems, and the occasional Covenant procurement, where she analyzed enemy weapons and technology recovered from the field.
<big>Red Flag</big><br>
In the years which followed, most of Halsey’s time was spent on Reach. Here she was commissioned by ONI to develop an incredibly advanced AI construct for a special operation known as RED FLAG - a last ditch effort to bring an end to the Covenant War by forcing a truce. On November 7, 2549, Halsey created Cortana, illegally cloning her own brain to use as a neural template for the AI. On August 29, 2552, Halsey met with Spartan John-117, now known as the legendary Master Chief. She and Cortana had selected him as the AI’s carrier for RED FLAG and after a surgical procedure and extensive testing, Cortana’s usefulness for the operation was validated. In August of 2552, the Covenant finally assaulted the colony of Reach, which set into motion RED FLAG. Unfortunately, things went quickly wrong and the UNSC Pillar of Autumn, the ship conducting the mission, was forced to escape into slipspace. Halsey was escorted by NOBLE Team member Jun-266 to CASTLE base, where she prepared to initiate Operation: WHITE GLOVE, to destroy the CASTLE facility, denying the Covenant access to it.
<big>Onyx Conflict</big><br>
Hiding within the depths of CASTLE, Halsey was rescued by a number Spartan-IIs, narrowly escaping the planet as it fell. During her time in CASTLE, however, she learned of a mysterious world called Onyx and the SPARTAN-III project. This caused her to abandon the Spartan-IIs with her and head for this planet, illegally drugging and abducting one of them to assist. There she rendezvoused with Spartan-II Kurt-051, who had been recruited to work on the SPARTAN-III program alongside Chief Petty Officer Franklin Mendez, the original drill instructor of SPARTAN-II. These and others, alongside Halsey, were forced deep into Onyx, revealing that it was Forerunner in origin and entirely artificial. A number of Spartans sacrificed their lives, to destroy the exterior of the planet, revealing an incredibly vast slipspace-enclosed interior, where those who escaped managed to survive. During this time, the formal war with the Covenant came to an end. Halsey and the others were rescued, though the doctor was arrested for a number of mounting illegal activities.
<big>Ivanoff & Infinity</big><br>
Stripped of her formal role at ONI, Halsey was now forced to work on Ivanoff Station, researching a newly discovered Halo ringworld Installation 03 (Gamma Halo) while under extreme scrutiny. During her time on Ivanoff, Halsey also worked on the refit for the UNSC Infinity, an enormous human warship that had been previously hidden from the public. Although relatively new, Halsey’s expertise was needed on installing a Forerunner slipspace drive which was eventually tested in March 2553.
<big>Requiem & the Absolute Record</big><br>
In February of 2558, during Infinity’s second campaign to the newly discovered Forerunner world of Requiem, Halsey was requisitioned by Captain Thomas Lasky. A Covenant contingent led by Sangheili Jul 'Mdama had been contesting the UNSC’s control of this world since its first discovery. While researching Requiem and the Prometheans which guarded it, she was abducted by the Covenant and brought to the planet's surface to assist their efforts. Serin Osman, the head of ONI, ordered that Halsey be terminated to prevent risk, but was only injured in the process, eventually losing her arm. Working alongside Jul 'Mdama, Halsey recovered the Janus Key, a two-part Forerunner device that when combined and brought to a site known as the Absolute Record, was said to reveal the location of all Forerunner technology.
During the skirmish, Halsey gave Spartan Gabriel Thorne half of the Key, preventing the Covenant from having both pieces. This act however, muddled by her seeming cooperation with the Covenant, served to call her allegiances into question. After a multi-system spanning game of cat-and-mouse, both Jul 'Mdama's forces - with Halsey in tow - and the UNSC Infinity found themselves at the Absolute Record. With powerful access to ancient technology hanging in the balance, both sides found themselves being tested by a Forerunner Contender-class AI construct. When Halsey tried to change the rules of the game in order to tip the scales in humanity's favor, she set forth a chain of events that would inevitably deny the technological treasures to both sides.
<big>Guardians' Ascent</big><br>
Eventually, the UNSC would launch a successful rescue of Halsey on the planet Kamchatka. The operation would be carried out by Fireteam Osiris, who - led by Spartan Jameson Locke - would succeed in not only acquiring Halsey from 'Mdama's clutches, but also in taking out the Covenant leader himself in the process. Once reunited with the UNSC, Halsey would attempt to assist Fireteam Osiris in finding Blue Team, who had gone AWOL in effort to make contact with a suddenly and mysteriously resurrected  Cortana.

<big>Summary</big><br>
In terms of intellect and political clout and, the rate of Builder was widely considered to be the most powerful and influential caste in Forerunner society. Within the Builder rate, the highest attainable rank was called the Master Builder, which served as the head of the Builder rate, and guided the efforts of all constituent guilds.
The final known individual to hold this rank was an incredibly powerful Forerunner named Faber-of-Will-and-Might. Wielding incredible intellect and influence, Faber became as ruthless as he was cunning. Though the Master Builder and the Didact spent much of their early careers as friends, time and circumstance saw them become political arch-rivals and eventually sworn enemies. The cause of this stemmed largely due to the Didact’s adamant opposition to the creation and implementation of the Halo Array, the design and construction of which was commissioned by the Master Builder. After many millennia of increasing conflict, the discord eventually culminated in both the Master Builder’s takeover of the Forerunner Old Council as well as the exile of the Didact.

<big>Summary</big><br>
Born in Hull, England on Earth in 2511, Randall Aiken was abducted by the Office of Naval Intelligence (ONI) for the classified SPARTAN-II project at the age of six in 2517. Like the other conscripts, his last name was redacted and he was referred to simply as Randall-037. Trained and augmented into a highly advanced super-soldier into his teen years, Randall-037 displayed a high proficiency for combat leadership, though he was notably less sociable than other Spartans off the field.
<big>Career</big><br>
He participated in 59 large-scale conflicts and military operations against the Covenant from 2525-2532. Conversely, he had very few engagements with human insurgents prior to the start of the Human-Covenant War, though he was involved in a failed effort to retrieve fellow Spartan Soren-066. This former ally had plotted to defect to the side of the rebels after complications during his augmentation process. Soren-066 was believed to have perished during his escape from Reach, providing a huge blow to Randall-037’s confidence, though he overcame the hurdle thanks to the encouragement of Chief Petty Officer Franklin Mendez.
In 2532, during the Battle of Vodin, Randall-037 was thought lost during an orbital space engagement with the Covenant. ONI deemed him an ‘unrecoverable asset,’ officially being listed as MIA. In reality, Randall had fallen from the planet’s skyhooks into Vodin’s atmosphere and plunged to the surface, surviving impact by landing in one of the colony’s oceans. He was rescued days later by locals who had also survived the Covenant assault. Though severely damaged in the attack, the colony was still habitable and Randall integrated with the local survivors as he recovered from his injuries.
With all outbound communication and transport equipment destroyed in the Covenant attack, Randall-037 lived with the survivors of Vodin for a full decade, even marrying one of the colonists. By the time the colony regained contact with the UNSC, his ties to the people of Vodin and his wife were too strong for him to return to service. Randall-037 – now going by the name Aiken – decided instead to keep a low profile and remain on Vodin. In 2545, Aiken and his wife had a daughter named Natalie. Tragically, Aiken’s wife died during childbirth. In 2546, ONI finally located him and made plans to reintegrate him into service, as they viewed him as a massive investment of the SPARTAN-II program. When Aiken refused, ONI deemed him compromised and no longer viable as a Spartan and so made plans to “decommission” him. Aiken forcefully (and successfully) resisted this effort and eventually negotiated a deal where ONI reversed many of his augmentations (in an excruciating process) in return for his release from service to the UNSC.
After his dealings with ONI were complete, Aiken and his daughter left Vodin and headed to the remote colony of Sedra where he enrolled as part of the Colonial Guard. Thanks in large part to his extensive training and history, by 2556 he advanced to leader of the local wing of the Guard as a Colonel.

Characters[modifier]

Jorge-052[modifier]

«

Chief Warrant Officer Jorge-052 was part of the SPARTAN-II project and eventually served as the heavy weapons specialist on Noble Team.

»

Jorge-052
Chief Warrant Officer

Service Number: S-052
Affiliation: UNSC Army (S-II)
Species: Human
Homeworld: Reach

Height: 7ft 4in (223.5cm)
Weight: 320lbs (145.2kg)
Born: March 5, 2511
Died: August 14, 2552

Summary
Though naturally strong and driven, Jorge was not selected for the SPARTAN-II program based on his physical strength and tenacity alone. Indeed, where others failed Jorge often had a plan, and he preferred to overcome obstacles with subtlety and minimum expenditure of lives and resources. While brave and exceptionally lucky, Jorge was something of a fatalist toward the end of his career, believing that he had long outlived the span of time allotted to a Spartan warrior. For this reason, he would often take risks he deemed worthwhile for the good of his unit and the UNSC. Despite having only lived there as a civilian for a meager six years, he was also oddly sentimental about Reach and held the planet and her people close to his heart well into his career as a Spartan.

Jorge was a native of Reach and was born in the small city of Pálháza. After his abduction for the SPARTAN-II program at the age of six, Jorge was trained to be an augmented soldier of unequaled value and formidability. He fought against the Covenant and humans rebels for decades, later finding placement on the Special Warfare fireteam called Noble, which was primarily composed of younger, less-experienced Spartan-III super-soldiers. As Noble Five, this career soldier served in numerous military campaigns, providing invaluable support for the team from his seasoned combat history, ultimately culminating in a return to his home planet of Reach. On August 14, 2552, Jorge died in defense of his homeworld, manually triggering a slipspace event near the Covenant supercarrier Long Night of Solace in an effort to stem the enemy’s implacable naval strength.

Kat-B320[modifier]

«

Kat-B320 was a Spartan-III super-soldier and second-in-command of Noble Team. She was killed in action during the closing days of the fall of Reach.

»

Kat-B320
Lieutenant Commander

Service Number: B-320
Affiliation: UNSC Army (S-III)
Species: Human
Homeworld: New Harmony

Height: 6ft 9in (205.7cm)
Weight: 244.9lbs (111.1kg)
Born: January 30, 2530
Died: August 23, 2552

Summary
An inspired tactician and brilliant warrior, Kat-B320 was hand-picked to serve outside the standard SPARTAN-III deployment plans as a result of her exceptional abilities and potential. Withdrawn from combat shortly before Operation: TORPEDO, which resulted in the deaths of nearly all of Beta Company, Kat was eventually placed on Noble Team, under the command of Carter-A259, where she excelled in battlenet management, tactical planning, and intelligence synthesis.

Kat-B320 was born in the city of Monastir, one of the three "jewel cities" on the colony of New Harmony. Though her father had already been killed in action on Harvest and her mother died of cancer in 2536, the fact that her living grandmother was a retired Army General meant her conscription into the SPARTAN-III program would arouse too many political issues. However, when Kat's grandmother was killed during the fall of New Harmony, ONI seized the chance to induct Kat. Brilliant, athletic, and beholden to the UNSC even before her indoctrination began, Kat was marked for special assignment shortly after her augmentations were completed. She and Carter-A259 formed the core of Noble Team, a unit found within a special tasks division of the SPARTAN-III program assigned to SPECWARCOM.

During the battle for the colony of Fumirole in April of 2552, Kat lost her arm while attempting to infiltrate a Covenant cruiser positioned just above the capital city. Although she quickly recovered, the mission claimed teammate Thom-293 and continued to haunt Kat sometime after. In late August of 2552, Kat was preparing to evacuate New Alexandria with the rest of Noble Team when she was shot down by a Sangheili sniper, though her contributions to the team proved invaluable in the completion of their mission on Reach.

Service Number: S-A259

Homeworld: Biko

Height: 6ft 10in (208.3cm)
Weight: 250lbs (113.4kg)
Born: August 27, 2520
Died: August 30, 2552

Summary
Commander Carter was a thinker and a leader--valuable qualities for anyone put in charge of young Spartan commandos expected to face impossible odds in every mission they undertake. Though he had been in command of Noble Team for years, only he and Kat remain of the original members. The rest had long since been killed in action or crippled during the many holding actions and desperate evacuations that typified the Covenant War. Though Spartans had come and gone from Noble, Carter was a master of building strong, tight-knit teams and was given considerable latitude in selecting replacement personnel by his superiors in both NAVSPECWAR and SPECWARCOM. Thus, it came as a surprise when Colonel Urban Holland personally selected a replacement for Thom (Noble Six) shortly after he was killed in action on Fumirole.

Carter was born in the city of Durban on the colony of Biko. Both of his parents died during the Covenant assault on the world. Before he could join the rest of the planet's refugee program his biometric profile and psychological screening alerted ONI monitors of his suitability for the SPARTAN-III program. Though older than many of the other orphaned children used in SPARTAN-III, he quickly proved to be an exceptional leader and warrior. He impressed both Kurt-051 and Mendez during the training of Alpha Company on Onyx, which fast-tracked him for command of a special fireteam when he graduated in 2536. Groups such as Carter's were both deemed too valuable to expend in suicidal operations and extremely useful as bargaining chips by ONI's Beta-5. To this end, Carter and his team were transferred to UNICOM operational control in an arrangement to secure Army support for SPARTAN-III within the UNSC High Command.

In July of 2552, Carter's team was sent to investigate a possible rebel attack at a remote communications array, unaware that the true threat was the Covenant. During the planet’s fall, Carter bravely led Noble even after the planet's doom became inevitable. Eventually, he sacrificed his life so that Noble Six could complete the team's objective--delivering a fragment of Cortana to the UNSC Pillar of Autumn before it departed.

Weight: 234.7lbs (106.5kg)
Born: March 11, 2523
Died: August 30, 2552

Summary
Emile believed that clinging to one’s humanity during a conflict, where loss equals extinction, is about as rational as drowning in a pool of your own blood--they cannot co-exist, so he decided early on in his career to never let them.

Emile was loud and flashy in combat, which inevitably drew attention to his actions during combat. He wanted to prove to everyone (as well as himself) that he was not afraid of the enemy nor was he afraid of doing whatever was necessary to win this war. It was for this reason that Emile was often guilty of overkill, but his apparent sadism was in actuality an affectation-- he did what he did because he knew that it could potentially break the enemy’s will to fight, not necessarily because he enjoyed it. The one personal action Emile took to signify his victories were the scratches he made on his visor--each of the hundreds of marks that make up its skull-visage in order to threaten the Covenant opposition at first sight.

Emile was born on Eridanus II. Although his parents had been killed during Insurrection activity when he was very young, his older brother took care of him on Luxor. During the fall of the planet, his brother sacrificed himself so that Emile could escape. This had a profound impact on the previously exuberant and rebellious youth. Subsequently, he was taken along with hundreds of other orphans to fill out the SPARTAN-III program. Emile quickly adapted and excelled in his training after discovering that he could fill the hole in his heart with the corpses of the Covenant. Emile graduated from the program at the age of 13, though his aptitude was such that he was removed from the general population of Alpha Company to be used for tasks that required a more skillful hand.

Species: Human
Homeworld: New Harmony

Height: 6ft 11in (211.6cm)
Weight: 244lbs (111.1kg)
Born: February 28, 2524

Summary
Jun-A266 is a Spartan-III super-soldier and the last surviving member of Noble Team. He is currently the acting Chief of Staff and head recruiter of the Spartan service branch, serving under Admiral Musa. Though technically retired from the UNSC Army and a civilian, he remains a deadly combatant more than capable of holding his own, even alongside the current generation of Spartans.

Jun was born in the city of Tyumen on the colony of New Harmony just prior to the Covenant War. One of the youngest orphans to be abducted for the SPARTAN-III project, Jun grew to be an expert marksman and seasoned scout, though complications with his augmentations nearly crippled him. Following graduation at the age of 12, he became one of Alpha Company’s best Spartan-III assets, where his skill as a sniper soon had him leading a headhunter team conducting missions directly for ONI. While he rarely speaks of this period, it can be surmised that he was responsible for tracking down and killing a number of rebel leaders who broke the tentative ceasefire between the UNSC and hostile militia groups after the attack on Harvest. Nevertheless, his performance was exemplary, leading to his selection as a member of the Special Warfare group’s elite Noble Team.

In July 2552, the Spartan fireteam was called to Reach to investigate a downed relay. Here Jun, as Noble Three, played an important part in discovering and assessing a Covenant invasion force. During the battle which followed, Jun bravely defended the planet until he and what was left of his team were ordered to the classified Sword Base. It was there, deep below the classified ONI facility, where he learned of Doctor Catherine Halsey’s research on the alien race known as the Forerunners. He was then ordered to split off from Noble and escort Halsey to the relative safety of Castle Base. Jun eventually escaped Reach and was later selected to lead the development of SPARTAN-IV alongside Admiral Musa.

Post-War
Somewhat of a loner by nature, Jun only competes with himself and has little time for trivial personality conflicts that impede efficiency. Though he is vocal and not afraid to speak his mind, Jun is always tightly focused on the mission at hand. Some mistake this for a deep philosophy, but in truth, it is more pragmatic than mystical. As a Spartan-III he was no stranger to loss and witnessed some of the best and brightest of humanity's youth be sacrificed--sometimes pointlessly--for temporary gain. He views the Spartan-IV program and the Spartan branch as a necessary compromise between the creation of child-janissaries and the need for super-soldiers in an extremely dangerous galaxy. To this end, he takes his duties as recruiter and training overseer with deadly seriousness, and is uncompromising in his review process of potential Spartan inductees. Although he has personally recruited Spartans that have eventually gone rogue or failed the training process, to those on the outside he often seems unconcerned. Only Musa is aware that Jun secretly takes even those events as evidence of the success of the Spartan-IV project, as those men and women had a choice as to what they would eventually become.

Though now he rarely has the opportunity to use his skills in the field, Jun is widely recognized as one the most talented snipers alive, though he is loath to boast such. His ability to maintain situational awareness and predict enemy behavior is particularly notable, as is his attention to detail while conducting overwatch. Even as a civilian his keen eye and ability to discern motivations from seemingly casual contact is almost preternatural. Jun often downplays this ability, describing it as a combination of simple deduction and great skill at being able to lip-read (or mandible-read, in the case of Sangheili).

Weight: 282lbs (127.9kg)
Born: July 17, 2511

Summary
In 2511, Alice Treske was born on the sparsely populated colony world of Passage. She was eventually targeted by ONI as a candidate for the SPARTAN-II project. Abducted shortly after turning six, she was trained and augmented into an extraordinary super-soldier, dubbed Alice-130. As a Spartan, she was attached to Red Team early on during the Covenant War, effectively working alongside Douglas-042 and team leader Jerome-092. As the war took its toll on the UNSC's Outer Colonies, Alice-130 and Red Team were deployed to Arcadia. There they were tasked with defending the city of Pirth.

Spirit of Fire
It was on Arcadia that Red Team synched up with the ground forces of UNSC Spirit of Fire, which had pursued Covenant ships from the battered world of Harvest. Integrated into Spirit's numbers, Red Team helped repel the Covenant invasion and prevent the enemy from gaining access to a mysterious set of ruins on the far side of the world. Red Team left Arcadia aboard the Spirit of Fire in pursuit of a Covenant vessel to a remote Forerunner shield world. On this strange planet, they assisted in the destruction of ancient Forerunner ships that would have been used against humankind were the Covenant to acquire them. Alice-130 and her team remained stranded aboard the Spirit of Fire when the ship's slipspace drive was sacrificed in order to destroy the shield world. Her current status is unknown.

Affiliation: UNSC

Hair Color: Black
Eye Color: Brown
Born: June 18, 2508

Summary
Orenski was born on Harvest to parents Roger and Madelyn Orenski, both of whom served as high-ranking officers in the UNSC. This pedigree destined Orenski for a career of military service, resulting in her enlistment at the Corbulo Academy of Military Science, an elite training school based on Circinius IV. She entered the school in 2523 as part of the graduating class of 2526 -- though the Covenant’s invasion of Circinius IV cut short her time there. Due to the isolation of Circinius IV, as well as the secrecy surrounding the Covenant’s initial assault of Harvest in 2525, Orenski remained unaware if her parents were present during the attack on her homeworld.

Current Status
Orenski’s current status is unknown. Although it is confirmed that she survived the events of 2526, where she completed school, what military branch (if any) she joined, and her current status remains a mystery.

Summary
Despite being the eldest Spartan on Fireteam Majestic, Anthony Madsen previously led a somewhat undistinguished career in the Marine Corps. His recruitment into the SPARTAN-IV program wasn’t the result of any particular accomplishment, but rather nepotism, as both his father and grandfather were generals in the Marine Corps. Madsen believes his performance as a Spartan will ultimately dictate his legacy and hopefully salvage a rather lackluster military career. Madsen leverages GEN2 RECON-class Mjolnir armor in the field and is most proficient with the sniper rifle.

»

Axl
Fringe Smuggler

Species: Yonhet
Homeworld: Yonhe
Affiliation: Covenant Fringe

Occupation: Smuggler/Trader
Languages Spoken: Trade Pidgin, Yonhetian (native)

Summary
Axl is a member of the Yonhet, an alien race native to a small moon called Yonhe, and who appear to be very talented at acquiring a large variety of difficult to find items. When the Yonhet initially came into contact with the Covenant, they were viewed as militarily insignificant, and with such a tiny population, there was little value in considering them as full signatories to the Covenant Empire. However, their talents gave them flexibility and a high degree of tolerance within the Covenant. Moreover, their cynical but devoted adherence to the potential benefits of the Great Journey meant that their loyalty was never in question.

Fringe Benefits
The Yonhet are considered part of the “Covenant fringe”, a collection of species scattered throughout the Orion Arm that both provide various strategic and infrastructure-related advantages as well as posing no real military threat to Covenant Empire. With the war focus shifting, and attentions turned back towards human expansion and rebuilding efforts, ONI and the UNSC are just beginning to gather the first bits of intelligence on the exact nature and size of the Fringe.

Integration
Axl and many others of his species largely remained in hiding until the Human-Covenant War was over. This was both because it was a fight that wasn’t their own, and because the growing scale of the conflict had made exploration and trade much too dangerous and difficult. In the past few years, the Yonhet have begun to emerge in hopes that the coast is clear enough to make a profit from the fleeting peacetime and political uncertainty. In the opinion of more than a few Sangheili, the Yonhet are considered more reliable than even the Kig-Yar. With the chaos and confusion of the Treaty period, fledgling Covenant warlords have begun to turn to the Yonhet more often to take advantage of their natural skill at sniffing out Forerunner relics. The interaction between these new warlords and the fringe species’ varies greatly however. Where some Covenant leaders have seen fit to elevate particular individuals to more trusted roles, others have taken a more oppressive approach. This has led to multiple isolated reports of Yonhet mistreatment and even enslavement by Sangheili warlords desperate for a larger share of the reemerging Covenant power structure.

Species: Monitor
Affiliation: Forerunner

Length: 22.9in (58.2cm)
Width: 19.9in (50.6cm)

Summary
049 Abject Testament is an ancient Forerunner AI construct. His mandate was to maintain Halo Installation 03 (Gamma Halo) and protect it from the Flood, at any cost.

At some point after the firing of the Halo Array, Abject Testament ceased directing the Installation’s functions. It is unclear as to the circumstances, though the ring’s archives show tens of thousands of reports filed by Installation sub-monitors regarding the poor state of quarantine controls and lack of action on outstanding maintenance and research requests dating back at least twenty thousand years, by human reckoning.

In the year 2557, 859 Static Carillon, keeper of the Composer's Forge, noticed a service portal between the monitors' respective installations had been reactivated. Static Carillon made several attempts to contact Abject Testament about the recent reactivation using secure Forerunner links unavailable to humans, without success. This prompted Static Carillon to travel to Installation 03 and investigate the situation. Once on the installation, Carillon discovered another Forerunner presence and the source of the service portal’s reactivation - the Didact.

The current fate and whereabouts of 049 Abject Testament remain a mystery.

Thel Vadam[sic]
Arbiter

Former Rank: Supreme Commander of the Fleet of Particular Justice

Homeworld: Sanghelios
Affiliation: Swords of Sanghelios

Height: 7ft 10in (238.6cm)
Weight: 319lbs (144.7kg)
Eye Color: Amber
Born: December, 10, 2485

Summary
Thel ‘Vadam was once a devoted Covenant warrior and the Supreme Commander of the Fleet Of Particular Justice. During the fall of Reach, his pursuit of a human vessel led to the discovery and eventual destruction of Halo. However, his failure to protect the sacred ring placed him at odds with the head of Covenant leadership--the High Prophet of Truth. As punishment, he was appointed Arbiter and sent on a suicidal mission. After the Prophet had betrayed him, ‘Vadam discovered the entirety of the Covenant’s belief system was based on a lie. He then forged a bond with humanity and led a band of rebel Sangheili against the Covenant, helping crush his former allies and bring an end to the war. Returning home, he was installed as a leader, seeking peace between their kind and the humans, though others rose against him and brought Sanghelios into civil war for several years. He currently seeks unity for his people and an end to civil war.

‘Vadam generally wears the traditional armor style worn by the Arbiters who served before him. More recently he dons a ceremonial battledress as both a tribute to the previous Arbiters and as a symbol of transition towards his vision of a united Sanghelios. The Energy Sword is his weapon of choice, and he occasionally uses his personal blade which carries the sobriquet “Prophets’ Bane”.

Early Career
The Arbiter, known previously as Thel ‘Vadamee, was placed into Covenant service at a young age. Early in his military career, he received a leadership role, an appointment that grew during the critical Metisette Conflict in 2535, and eventually granted him the mantle of Supreme Commander. In this capacity, ‘Vadamee flourished, conquering and laying waste to numerous human colonies in the name of the Covenant. However during the battle for the planet Reach, his pursuit of a single enemy vessel ultimately led to the destruction of the Covenant.

The Halo Conflict
In chasing the rogue human ship (UNSC Pillar of Autumn), ‘Vadamee’s forces discovered Alpha Halo, one of the Forerunners’ Sacred Rings the Covenant had sought since their founding thousands of years earlier. This represented the culmination of the Covenant’s core goal: the activation of Halo, an event that allegedly offered divinity to all members of the Covenant.

However, due to a political conflict with the Prophet of Stewardship, ‘Vadamee’s efforts to contain both the human threat and the Flood outbreak were subverted. This allowed an enemy known as the Master Chief to destroy the ring. The resulting catastrophe, as well as the capture of his flagship Ascendant Justice, put him at odds with Covenant leadership—specifically the San’Shyuum Hierarch known as the High Prophet of Truth. The Hierarch forced on him the shamed mantle of the Arbiter and the task of locating the Sacred Icon -- an Activation Index. Only with the holy relic could the Hierarchs ignite the newly discovered Delta Halo installation and return ‘Vadamee former glory.

Delta Halo
Upon acquiring the Sacred Icon, the Arbiter was struck down by the Prophets’ Jiralhanae guards. This act revealed the Prophet’s secret betrayal of the Sangheili and initiated the Great Schism—a civil war that tore their longstanding alliance apart. Along with his encounter with a Flood Gravemind, the Arbiter uncovered the disturbing truth of Halo. It wasn’t a sublimation device capable of imbuing divinity on the faithful, as the Prophets had instructed, but rather a devastating weapon which, if activated, would destroy all sentient life in the galaxy. Working with the Master Chief (the very same human who destroyed the first ring), the Arbiter prevented the Covenant from activating Delta Halo. He then followed his newfound allies back to Earth to fight the last vestige of the Covenant.

Breaking the Covenant
Allied with a handful of rebel Sangheili who had survived the Great Schism, the Arbiter and the Master Chief pursued the Covenant to the massive Forerunner installation known as the Ark. It was here that he assassinated the Prophet of Truth, ushering an end to the Covenant and the threat of Halo. Despite this victory, his species remained fragmented in the months that followed. Those allied with him against the Covenant stayed in his service, as did his family state. Others found political and ideological solidarity in him while the Sangheili’s entire religious framework went through the process of redefinition. However, some Sangheili still held to the strictures and theology of the Covenant religion, although they did not deny the San’Shyuum’s deception or the many failings of the original Covenant. Others were indifferent to the Covenant religion and faith as a whole, but remained staunchly belligerent toward any peace with the humans, still holding to their old ways and the hostilities of previous years.

Current Status
Currently, Arbiter Thel ‘Vadam is considered the formal, interim leader of the Sangheili (Elites), and specifically his species’ homeworld called Sanghelios. His role to end their war with the humans created a traumatic dichotomy within the Sangheili. Some support his authority and leadership, gathering under the banner “Swords of Sanghelios”. Others, however, find it heretical on historically-religious grounds, and yet others find cross-species alignment with the humans politically naive. Even further, many Sangheili regard ‘Vadam as a “false Arbiter.” They claim that since he did not ultimately sacrifice himself in battle, he represents the ultimate heresy against both the Great Journey and Sanghelios itself. They view him as a coward that must be extinguished for the Sangheili to truly ascend.

Affiliation: Unified Earth Government

Height: 5ft 11in (180cm)
Weight: 210lbs (95.3kg)
Born: May 28, 2500

Summary
Andrew Del Rio currently serves as a popular Senator in the Unified Earth Government. Appointed to replace a deceased colleague, Del Rio has proven to be a remarkably able politician and bureaucrat who finds the labyrinthine halls of power in the UEG as comfortable as the halls of a starship.

Captain of the Infinity
Del Rio served as the project manager for UNSC Navy’s secretive superweapon project – the Infinity – during its construction, and as its captain during final fitting and shakedown tour. Though he artfully avoided promotion to Admiral to retain his command at least once, his career was unfortunately ended after Infinity’s fateful discovery of Requiem.

After crashing in the interior of the shield world, Del Rio led the defensive efforts, aided by his executive officer Thomas Lasky and, later, the Master Chief and his AI companion Cortana. Heavily damaged and facing the Didact’s massive Promethean and Covenant army, Del Rio decided to immediately return to Earth and assemble reinforcements. Unfortunately, he did not account for the fact that Lord Hood and most of the other Security Council members would harshly judge his seeming abandonment of the Chief, removing him from command while they began an investigation.

That his initial analysis was proven correct by the failure of the Navy defense fleets to slow or stop the Mantle’s Approach from composing New Phoenix mattered little with the return of Earth’s legendary hero and his victory over the Didact. With no prospect of a new command while the UEG and UNSC investigated the disaster, Del Rio chose to retire, spinning his connections and accumulated favors into a rewarding, if obscure, political posting in the Jovian colonies.

Homeworld: Draco III
Service Number: 92458-37017-EB

Affiliation: ODST
Height: 6ft 2in (188cm)
Weight: 196lbs (89kg)
Born: August 22, 2510

Summary

Post War

SPARTAN-IV

Doctor

Species: Human
Homeworld: Endymion
Affiliation: ONI
Service Number: CC-409871

Weight: 117lbs (53kg)
Hair Color: Gray

Born: March 19, 2492

Summary

Birth and Education

SPARTAN-II and MJOLNIR

Family Ties

The Covenant

Red Flag

Onyx Conflict

Ivanoff & Infinity
Stripped of her formal role at ONI, Halsey was now forced to work on Ivanoff Station, researching a newly discovered Halo ringworld Installation 03 (Gamma Halo) while under extreme scrutiny. During her time on Ivanoff, Halsey also worked on the refit for the UNSC Infinity, an enormous human warship that had been previously hidden from the public. Although relatively new, Halsey’s expertise was needed on installing a Forerunner slipspace drive which was eventually tested in March 2553.

Requiem & the Absolute Record

Guardians' Ascent
Eventually, the UNSC would launch a successful rescue of Halsey on the planet Kamchatka. The operation would be carried out by Fireteam Osiris, who - led by Spartan Jameson Locke - would succeed in not only acquiring Halsey from 'Mdama's clutches, but also in taking out the Covenant leader himself in the process. Once reunited with the UNSC, Halsey would attempt to assist Fireteam Osiris in finding Blue Team, who had gone AWOL in effort to make contact with a suddenly and mysteriously resurrected Cortana.

Master Builder
Faber-of-Will-and-Might

Rank: Master Builder
Species: Forerunner

Rate: Builder
Born: 110962 BCE

Summary

Randall Aiken
Randall-037

Rank: Colonel
Species: Human
Homeworld: Earth

Service Number: S-037
Affiliation: Sedran Colonial Guard

Summary
Born in Hull, England on Earth in 2511, Randall Aiken was abducted by the Office of Naval Intelligence (ONI) for the classified SPARTAN-II project at the age of six in 2517. Like the other conscripts, his last name was redacted and he was referred to simply as Randall-037. Trained and augmented into a highly advanced super-soldier into his teen years, Randall-037 displayed a high proficiency for combat leadership, though he was notably less sociable than other Spartans off the field.

Career
