For Alpine the only direction I had was to create a map inspired by Halo's Valhalla. Without any layout from design I began to sketch out the space in Zbrush... ...This proved to be better than any paper map as everyone was able to see how the space would translate immediately, I had design buy in day one. I had even fleshed out in my head how to make it balanced and how to visually differentiate the sides.
